Activity Program Highlights

At Cedar Ridge, your day will be packed with fun and adventure. Have a favourite sport or adventure activity? No problem! New schedules are created weekly allowing you to select some of your own activities. And, if you can’t get enough of your favourites during the day, campers have a free choice of activity after dinner. Some of our regular programs include:

  • Canoeing

Nothing says “Canadian camping” like the canoe. Campers will experience both flat water and white-water instruction that are age, interest and experience appropriate. Awards are offered for levels of achievement in recreational canoeing.

  • Swimming

At Cedar Ridge, the waterfront is the focal point of many fun games and learning activities. Campers will become strong swimmers and develop knowledge of water safety and waterfront rules. Daily instruction combined with general swims and swimming games are a central feature of the camp. Campers will work toward achieving levels recognized by the Canadian Lifesaving Society.

  • Tripping

Our campers really love the tripping program. Whether hiking, mountain biking or paddling a canoe, these single day, overnight, and multi-day excursions provide unique and exciting adventures.

  • Woodcraft

At Cedar Ridge, we believe that campers need the proper skills to really explore the outdoor environment. Campers are taught trip planning, map and compass reading, fire building, stove operation, cooking and campsite management.

Additional outdoor adventure, sports and visual arts activities include:

  • Kayaking
  • Sailing
  • Climbing
  • Drama
  • Art & Crafts
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Soccer
  • Hockey
  • Ultimate Frisbee
  • Beach Volleyball
  • Paddle making
  • Archery
  • Earth Education
  • Horseback Riding
  • White Water Canoeing
  • Frisbee Golf

Activities challenge campers throughout the week, and then carry through the weekend with special events. Look forward to Camp Games for Olympic hopefuls, Skit Nights for budding stars, regattas, Bushpede, Grand Council and more.
